A planning application to build 33 new flats with affordable housing near Old Kent Road has been approved.
Southwark Council’s Planning Committee approved the application at the end of June to build 33 new flats on Hatcham Road, including 12 affordable homes with eight at social rent.
The Iberia House scheme will demolish an existing light industrial building, and replace it with a new mixed-use development that will be up to nine storeys in height.
The new building will provide 33 new homes, as well as commercial and employment space on the ground floor and first floor.
In total 20,000 new homes are set to be built in the Old Kent Road area, with at least 35 per cent of which will be affordable - including 5,000 at social rent.
