Southwark square undergoes revamp

A public square in Southwark has reopened after the completion of a 500,000 improvement programme.

The work on Flat Iron Square is the first part of the London Development Agency’s Bankside Urban Forest initiative and part of the London mayor’s programme to improve public spaces.

The scheme will reconnect the square with nearby shops, following the closure of the southern end of Union Street, as well as new lighting, seating and improved paving.
